About
Horsefeathers Winemaking - Since 2019
Horsefeathers Wine was founded in 2019 as a personal expression of winemaking shaped by years spent working in cellars alongside thoughtful producers and mentors. The work spans classic, site-driven styles as well as more wild approaches, informing a practical perspective rather than allegiance to any single camp.
All Horsefeathers wines are made from organically farmed fruit, fermented with native yeasts, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, with sulfites used sparingly if at all. Production remains intentionally small and hands-on from harvest through bottling.
The name Horsefeathers comes from my grandparents’ nursery business in Los Angeles in the 1970s, reflecting a long-standing connection to cultivation, patience, and the time it takes to make something meaningful.
